Incredible 50s Vintage Dress with real lace collar. First, let's talk about this wool. The black wool this dress is made of is of impeccable quality. The woman whose estate I found this dress at lived in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Washington DC. This house was midcentury jaw dropping! She had great taste and could afford the best quality. And truly everything she had in her home (including the home itself) is first class. Anyway back to the materials of the dress, the wool is fine, soft and in perfect condition. The lace collar is REAL lace. Excuse me do you know how hard it is to make lace? It is incredibly complicated and this lace is intricate and light and so nicely pleated at the collar. Lace making is skill that is now rare and left to the hands of haute couture houses and artisans.
Lovely waist highlighting cut.
Lined inside
There is a zipper at back to close. You can not find better quality at this price point. Please don't worry too much about the fit, a good tailor would be able to alter this to fit this dress for your precisely should you need it. But please have a look at the measurements below!
